To celebrate a mate’s birthday, we jumped in the car in search of a secluded, rugged West Coast beach to unwind for the weekend. Whatipu delivered. Perfect weather, endless swims, and vast coastal walkways made for an unforgettable three-day escape. The West Coast of Auckland has always been a special place for me—a spot to reset and soak in the wild beauty.
